Quincy’s Mike Mitchell can be seen at about the 1:20 mark.
The 10-episode action-comedy ‘Twisted Metal’ is streaming on Peacock.

Quincy native Mike Mitchell has starred opposite a fan-favorite superhero and the G.O.A.T. His newest assignment pairs him with an Avenger. Mitchell plays Stu in “Twisted Metal,” a new action comedy topped by Anthony Mackie, best known for his role as Falcon in the Marvel franchise.

“Twisted Metal” is a 10-episode adaptation of the PlayStation vehicular combat video game and premieres July 27 on Peacock. Filling out the cast are Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett, and Neve Campbell.

With a mug full of facial hair and a heavy-set physique, Mitchell usually ends up playing characters with names like “Sweaty Beard” or “Slushy Douche.” In the new series, Mitchell plays Stu, an agent of the show’s main antagonist, Stone. Stu is a guy with a blow-up doll girlfriend. Stu starts playing all the angles when he realizes he’s not cut out for the apocalyptic lifestyle that’s full of cars, guns, and walled cities.

Mitchell was most recently seen fighting aliens with Chris Pratt (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) in the action-adventure hit “The Tomorrow War,” on Prime Video.

Though he’s been on the West Coast for almost 20 years, Mitchell hasn’t strayed far from his Quincy roots. He has not given up his “617” phone number and his cat, “Wolly,” is named after his Wollaston neighborhood.

Mitchell caught a big break and a pass from Tom Brady when he co-starred with former Patriots quarterback in a “Funny or Die” bit for Under Armour. He also guest-starred on Fox’s “The Mindy Project,” starring Newton’s Mindy Kaling, and NBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” with Burlington’s Amy Poehler.  Mitchell voiced a character on the Boston-themed episode of “The Simpsons” and appears in the shot-in-Massachusetts AMC series “Kevin Can F**K Himself.” Other credits include “Sonic the Hedgehog 2,” the Netflix comedies “Love,” “Brews Brothers,” and the hit comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” He started his career in the sketch comedy group the Birthday Boys, which had a two-season television run on cable’s IFC. He also hosts the “Doughboys,” a popular comedic podcast about chain restaurants.

Mitchell, a 2001 North Quincy High School graduate, is the son of lifelong Quincy residents Corinne and the late William A. Mitchell. Mom was a North Quincy High School teacher, and Dad was general counsel at the MBTA and a founding Granite Links Golf Club member.
